A Blessing Away from Home is a family-owned business, made up of five residential assisted living homes located in West Baltimore and North East Baltimore County.

We provide long-term care due to aging, illness, recovery or rehabilitation. Our certified caregivers are committed to providing individualized service and compassionate care.
Our Care
1:4 Caregiving-to-Resident Ratio
Companionship is key in building a trusted relationship with our residents. We are not only here to assist with everyday tasks, we are invested in developing a caring relationship with each of our residents. We provide one-on-one attention and care that cannot compare in other settings.
Certified Med Tech Staff
Our staff are career caregivers - all Med Tech certified and professionally trained. Their main focuses are to promote good health and provide compassionate care that residents and families can trust.
Activities & Care Coordinator On Staff
Our full-time Coordinator ensures that our residents have the care and recreation necessary to thrive. From in-home therapies to day care to regular activities that keep our residents active and stimulated, our goal is to help our residents live happy and fulfilling lives.

Challenging Behaviors & Dementia Support
Founder and Managing Owner, Latanya Lewis, has over 30 years of experience as a Psychiatry professional at both Kennedy Krieger and Johns Hopkins. Ms. Lewis's background in Psychiatry has made A Blessing Away From Home an excellent option for residents and families struggling with challenging behaviors.
Through a clinical process of observing residents to determine triggers, redirecting and medication management, Latanya and her team are able to expertly get residents back on track.
Additionally, A Blessing Away from home has a contracted Psychiatrist visit the home as needed or every 30 days.

Contracted Nurse Practitioner Primary Care provider performs monthly visits and resident evaluations
Monthly Podiatrist visits
Medication delivery from local pharmacy
